Abstract

|
A case of carcinoma in the male breast seen in University Hospital was reported in view of it¢¥s rarity and a review of the related literatures was made.
The patient was a 59 year old Korean male, a farmer, who had been suffered from a gradually enlarging mass in his left breast during past 7 years. One year prior to admission to our University Hospital, the mass was excised at a private clinic for the purpose of relief of increasing severe pain. Put unfortunately it soon recurred to grow again.
Physical examination revealed a well developed, poor nourished man with pale appearance.
The affected breast was found to be indurated with two underlying infant-fist siged masses.
Both cervical, supraclavicular, axillary and inguinal lymphnodes were moderately swollen suggesting metastatic lesions respectidely.
The liver was palpated in finger breadth below right lower costal margin.
X-ray findings revealed extensive infiltration in both lung fields as well as fine lineal shadows radiating toward peripheral areas from both enlarged hilar shadows.
The mass was biopsied and histologically confirmed to be a infiltrating duct carcinoma.
